Fashion Review: American Music Awards 2015

"Better late than never" is my motto for this weeks blog posts! Last week I went on a Thanksgiving break vacation with my family (I'll talk about everything that happened in another post). Not only did I place an undesirable pause on blogging for a few days but I also missed out on watching one of my favourite award shows live. Luckily, upon my return, I was able to watch the actual show (yes, I cried my heart out when Justin performed in the rain.... So sexy) and definitely got a glimpse of the fabulous looks that hit the carpet. I am also very content that I was able to see and appreciate for myself, one of the most talked about "outfit changes" a host has ever done.... Which was expected from my imaginary god-mother, Jennifer Lopez.
Before I go on any further about her though... Some additional stars definitely made the list for my favourite looks of the night.
Gorgeous model Gigi Hadid looked purely angelic in a white two-piece ensemble. Revealing lots of skin, she maintained a "cropped" concept from head to toe, literally.
A pant suit is always a great unique idea. Actress Ashley Benson certainly declared that statement in a fitting teal shaded set. A pair of black pumps completed her simple but chic attire and a box clutch to go along made everything even better.
A top choice of the night for me was this look on Christina Milian. Draped in black, she rocked a high slit as well. Effortless would be the way I would describe what she flaunted in. Pointed toe pumps, limited but stylish accessories and a sleek bun to complement the gown, I could not ask for anything more from her.
My eyes gravitated to this Zuhair Murad jumpsuit the entire night. Hailee Steinfeld looks amazing wearing the striped patterned fit that shine with gold buttons. The shorts and plunging v-neck cut was enhanced by her breath-taking tall physique that was noticeably assisted by the satin platform pumps.
I can always count on Zendaya to bring something to the carpet and last week she brought a pop of color. Mastering the art of matching with a single hue, this pink outfit looked absolutely beautiful on her.
The Jenner sisters stepped it up even more this year and displayed the perfect edginess that I was yearning to see. Both dressed in black, Kylie opted for leather while Kendall posed in a dress much softer. The details of the two high neck frocks appeal to me the most. Kendall's shoulders stood out with fluffy straps attached to hers and Kylie was rather daring in a chain embellished cut-out masterpiece. The pair also walked the carpet in strappy sandal heels which went well.
Nicki Minaj glistened in a lovely powder pink dress. Long for elegance but cut-out at the sides for sexiness, I loved the combination. Its gold decoration was also a major boost and her slicked back hairstyle did not take away from it at all.
Although at first I felt like I had seen this look on Ciara before, I gained immediate adoration for the way she wore it. High collar neck, structured shoulders, black, and beaded sounds like a repetition of her previous red carpet outfits but that does not take away from the fact that she looked stunning in this number.
Fierce as ever, Hannah Davis wore a mesh long sleeve silver piece. The floor length see through garment looked insanely electrifying on this beauty.
Her "Confident" performance had me in awe but her carpet look was also impeccable. Demi Lovato was one to illustrate the Old Hollywood glam trend and did so sensationally in a gown designed by Lorena Sarbu.
Black never cracks... or in better words... disappoints... These additional two astonished in the dark color.
Not too many of the fellas gave me a reason to shout, as it concerns fashion-wise, but these two, both decked in grey, made me lose my voice.
Now back to the host that made my jaw drop 10 times (well 11, because her opening performance had me constantly wondering how she pulled it off at the age of 46.) If you did not consider her as a fashion icon before, she claimed the crown on Sunday night.
I literally suffered from heart palpitations solely by seeing each remarkable outfit that she exhibited. From a DSquared2 bodysuit to a Michael Cinco designed princess-inspired full mid length dress, she showed ultimate style diversity!
My list of favourites was pretty easy to make. I expected it to be so considering that it was the AMA's... Stars always bring out one of their best and this year they did not fail to do so.
