Trend Report: Turtleneck Takeover

Revived from the effortless era of the 1960's, turtle-neck is currently a booming trend. Through out the past two seasons, it's been known as one of the staples, especially for layering and everyone is embracing it like it never left. The high collar design that covers your neck or a portion of it has become the go-to this winter. Not only does it defeat the purpose of a scarf but it's surely stylish for both males and females.
Many remember considering the turtle-neck to be old school... and I mean literally... nobody wanted to wear it outside of the hallways. Or was it only me? Because I do recall cutting my turtle-neck, making the top 'off the shoulder'... However, the trend has now been taking the fashion world by storm. The comfort of a turtle neck is incomparable and it's perfect for casual fall/winter street style. In addition, it develops a preppy and chic look for anyone.
The elevated neck rise usually folds over and its commonly used with knitwear but up-to-the-minute designs incorporate them in jumpsuits or even bodysuits. Today's garments with turtle-necks are now cropped, sleeveless, or have a choker like form that stands on its own. Here are a few looks that I created with retro and new turtle -neck styles:
I have a some turtle-neck pieces now and believe it or not I've even been dressing up in the ones I once considered frumpy. Whatever turtle-neck you desire to try, I suggest you do so before spring flies in. I doubt the trend will linger into the summer so it's best to catch it while its popping!
