Style Tip: Valentine's Day Outfit Essentials

6:35:00 PM

Valentine's Day is this weekend and just like any other year, the excitement is basically 50/50. You have people that are madly in love truly anticipating a beautiful day and then you have single people like me, who really doesn't care.  While I'm still waiting for someone to ask me to be their Valentine, I'm slowly realizing a trend. I have a holiday curse. No invite to a Halloween party, no Christmas gifts, and now no Valentine? Gosh, atleast Thanksgiving was nice.
Anyway, this day is a day of love. Whether it's with your partner on a fancy date, or friends celebrating together (something I wouldn't mind)....
The truth is, that short chubby guy with the arrow has A LOT of work to do. This is the day restaurants are overbooked, gift stores are selling out and the guy on the side of the road selling roses makes his largest income. Whatever you decide to do on V-Day, it's important that you do it fashionably. Atleast if you have no one special to share it with, you can admire your outfit.
Valentines Day apparel usually calls for an ideal romantic, flirty, or sexy aesthetic. You can create a look to achieve any of those styles through specific textures, colors and garments. Here's a list of the things you should incorporate in your outfit for lovers day.

TEXTURES
Lace: This elegant fabric is the perfect overlay for a romantic look.

Satin: This rich material is super dreamy. Find a chic piece to wear for a flirty appearance.

COLOURS
Red: This being the most famous color for the holiday, in representation of a heart and passion, get an unique red number to truly stand out.

White: Labour Day isn't the only period for you to shine in all-white. This color gives off the ultimate positive vibe that's needed for Valentine's Day.
Pink: For the charming girly-girl like me who believes their heart is actually pink rather than red, wear the cute and flirty color with pride.

Black: A little black dress on Vday never hurt nobody. Don't be afraid to try a sexy and edgy look in the classic color.

Black and White: Mix it up for some more fun! Pair the two hues and top it off with a red lip color for a daring look.

Gold/Nude: For a natural or opulent look, go for gold... or nude. Chose it for a night-time outfit and you'll look fab!

Other: Contrary to popular belief, you don't have to wear the common Valentine's Day colors.
Dress in a muted purple shade, bright yellow, royal blue, wine or even rust and you can still be fashionable.

GARMENTS:
Dresses/Skirts: What better way to look flirty... I'm thinking skirts and dresses are without a question.

Bodysuit: Keep it trendy and romantic in a gorgeous all-in-one top and style it with a modish bottom.

Jumpsuits/Rompers: A jumpsuit or romper reveals your inner sophisticated sexy which is extremely fitting for Vday.

May this tip inspire your upcoming Vday look. I promise if you master the style this year as a single lady, you'll for sure have a Valentine in time for next year and if you're in a relationship, you're a keeper! Send a few photos or tag me for feature on the blog if you decide to go out in style. I'll be on the lookout while I spend my holiday on my couch binge watching 100 romantic films.
