Fashion: NYFW - Fall 2016 (Street Style)

Snow days in the city did not prevent the true fashion lovers from stepping out in their best outfits. Fashion week street style this season was just what I expected. Trench coats, boots and head caps owned the avenues of New York as attendees lined up to see shows. Layering was a must and winter trends were in full effect. Here are a few that were evidently popular last week:

Oversized Coats: Whether it was trench coats, boyfriend coats, or cape coats, large outwear was definitely the most seen.

Faux Fur: Many opted for elaborate fluffy threads over plain coats.

White: A lot seemed to be matching the snowflakes that fell from the icy skies throughout the week by rocking white pieces.

Layering: Again, almost everyone used the timely and essential method of dressing to stay warm but stylish in the frosty weather.

Pattern Mixing: Some stepped outside of the box and paired prints. They incorporated double patterns when layering or simply completing a look.

Boots: Those that didn't wear ankle booties with their long length bottoms chose to wear knee high or thigh high boots. Legs were kept covered but covered modishly.

Maroon: My recent prediction proved to be a trend. Look at this monochrome fit.

Scarves: Layering does include scarves so many had that element in their attire.

Twinning: Attending a fashion show with your bestie can be one thing but twinning seemed to be the way to go this year. It could be anything... Same coat, same hat or even same shoes.

Cropped Denim: This trend caught me by surprise but I love it. Denim pants were in large amounts especially those that were cropped or distressed.

Outfits on the street varied from full on designer apparel to chic casual and comfy looks but no failed to appear fashionable.

The pavements could be runways on its own. If you didn't have a ticket to attend a show, going to the location and seeing the looks of actual show goers would be impressionable enough.
