Style Story: Final Destination

8:44:00 PM

Sighing deeply on the couch, feeling relieved, she quickly zipped up the last luggage to carry on board her flight early tomorrow morning. Amanda Hansen is a San Francisco based realtor and interior decorator that appreciates life one step at a time. As a hard working business woman and single mother, that juggles both responsibilities to the best of her ability, she has desired two things for the past few years. These two things include going on a relaxing vacation and finding the man of her dreams.

The summer is here and finally Amanda is receiving one of the two. Tomorrow she is set to go on a 7-day Caribbean cruise with both of her kids, 4 year old Jose and 7 year old Isabella. Although she is still in search for a charming man to share the rest of her life with, she is thrilled to enjoy this must needed trip with her children that she’s been planning for a while.

After getting a few hours of sleep, her alarm sounded off. Waking up her children has always been the hardest task of her day but for some reason, it was a piece of cake today. It's her guess that they are pretty anxious for the trip. She first made them breakfast, got them dressed, then decided to get herself ready for the full-day airport journey.

Initiating her tropical themed wardrobe for the week, her look which was quite cool and simple for the flight included a pastel pink knitted halter-neck crop top, layered with a colourful Aztec print fringed kimono. For the bottom she opted for a comfy high waisted light blue skinny jeans and wore a pair of nude leather ankle cuffed sandals on her feet. She accessorized the outfit to the max with a stylish tan skinny belt, diamond rose gold hoop earrings, a mint green Dolce and Gabbana leather should bag, an assortment of gold tone rings that had brilliant texture and faux gem accents, and of course a pair of classic gold cat-eye sunglasses designed by Fendi.

Hours passed by and after a length but pleasant first class flight, Amanda went aboard the ship with her family. They then got settled into their cabin suite that displayed a dynamic and picturesque ocean view. With the kids already amused by everything, they all changed to go to pool. While Jose and Isabella played on the geometric water slides that sat in the centre of the gigantic ship, all Amanda wanted to do was relax in style.

She laid back on the lounge chairs wearing a one piece swimsuit printed with tropical palms. The piece captured the beauty of her sculptured body with its daring side cut-outs, plunging neckline, and gathered waist design. Over the swimmy, she wore an effortless white shift dress. The vintage tunic that had a high neck collar went along well with her metallic gold lizard skin espadrille sandals and retro transparent backpack. With ravishing nude lips and popping coral Stella McCartney cat-eye sunnies glistening in the sun, her two-tiered beaded bib necklace created with dangling tear drop marbles, gold arm cuff and sleek stud earring, made the look ideal.

The following day they woke up in a completely different country...Dominican Republic. The ship docked in the capital city and Amanda got her family dressed once again. Adventures that day consisted of sight seeing and souvenir shopping.

She casually walked the Caribbean streets in a fitting marl-gray halter neck bodysuit. Made of jersey material, showcasing a hourglass silhouette, the piece resembled her previous swimsuit with its cropped out sides. A pair of chic ripped boyfriend jeans and brown platform heels was thrown on with the basic top. In addition, dramatic accessories included a pair of simple double-sided stud pearl earrings, stacked black wood bracelets in various shapes, a statement necklace decorated with an array of colourful plated jewels, and a yellow leather Celine tote handbag to complement it. Straying away from cat-eyes for the day, her eye wear still remained trendy as she rocked round and dark tinted lens trimmed with a matte black and gold frame.

Later that evening the hopped back on the cruise ship. With efforts to spend more quality time with her two little ones, Amanda took them to see an interesting magic show that was being hosted on board.

Fashion was maintained at the exhibition in every aspect. Amanda styled a botanical print scalloped edged skirt with a unique one-shoulder bandeau white top and ory gold strappy sandals by Giuseppe Zanotti. Color co-ordination was key with this outfit. Her stunning luxe round crystal drop earrings matched the greenery in her skirt while the bright orange petals in the bottom matched the glossy salmon-hue clutch that positioned between her arm. Even the antique gold armour bracelet that stretched on her wrist corresponded well.

Several days after departing that Spanish speaking haven, they arrived to their second stop, Turks and Caicos.

Preparing for more island fun in the sun, Amanda dressed herself in an eccentric designer panelled pearly white skirt. Made from both tech-jersey and chiffon fabric, the garment presented versatility with it's elongated apparence and sexy high slit at the front. Her outfit also comprised of an alluring stripped blue, red, black and white bustier top created with a sweetheart cut and oversized bow tied and pinned in the centre. Black accessories worn was a glamorous floppy fem hat, ideal for the weather; a pair of H&M leather ankle strap/single toe sandals, and modern smooth leather M2Malletier shoulder bag made with a peculiar angle shape and a brass gold handle. Jewels that co-ordinated with the handle was a satiny burnished finish cross-over upper arm cuff, golden pearl stud earrings, a set of gold plated stacking rings, and an ear cuff with faceted marquis and black crystal stones.

In this she took the kids for a seaside lunch at a native restaurant. As they all munched on plates filled with seafood and other local cuisines, an unknown guy walked by dressed in chef's clothing.
"How is the food? Are you guys enjoying everything?" he asked with a distinct accent.
With her mouth stuffed with grilled salmon, Amanda gave him a nod and thumbs up.
"Great! What's your name big guy?" he questioned Jose.
"Captain America", Jose answered in a sarcastic tone.
The gentleman chuckled then replied "Good one...", "I'm guessing you guys are from the USA?" he continued.
Amanda then butted in, "You're right. We're from San Francisco. Just visiting here. His name is Jose, that's Isabella and I'm Amanda. Now may I kindly ask who you are before we give any more information about ourselves." Amanda stared at him with bold eyes.
"My apologies. My name is Troy. Troy Hudson." He shook her hand firmly... "This is actually my restaurant and I'm a top chef." he went on.
"Really? The food is awesome!" Amanda shouted with enthusiasm.
"Thank you. I'm glad you liked it. How long are you here for?"
"Until tomorrow morning. We are on a cruise. We just left DR. It was amazing but I must say this island is absolutely beautiful as well." she responded.
"Yeah, it is. Have you guys been to see our lighthouse yet?" Troy said in an inquisitive gist.
"Unfortunately, no. We  haven't done much sight seeing here as yet. The kids were starving so our first stop had to be here."
Isabella took another silent bite of her shrimp pizza.
"Well once their stomachs are full, I suggest you take them a few places and how about I take you guys to see the lighthouse tonight? It's surprisingly more interesting and magnificent in the evening time. Plus, you all can have dinner there at my other restaurant on the top floor." he added onto his proposal.
"Sounds cool but I think these two will be extremely tired" Amanda uttered with a sad expression and hidden uninterested look.
"Do you guys want to see the lighthouse tonight?!" Troy persisted.
Jose screamed, "What's a light hop?"
Tony laughed softly, "A light house buddy. It's a tall tower building in the sea that looks really pretty and you get to eat good food."
Jose then jumped out of his seat yelling, "Yayyyyyy!"
"Mommy pleaseeeeeee" Isabella whined.
Amanda gave them a look then gave Troy another look of defeat.
"Fine" she said.
"Alright, meet me back here at 7. I'll take you guys there. By 10 the kids can be back to head for bed." Troy declared.
"Deal!"
"Nice meeting you beautiful, hope to see you later" he winked
"You too sir." She concluded the chat with a smile.
After lunch they went bird watching and did other recreational activities.

Later that evening, Amanda changed into fancier attire.

Ready for another touristic expedition, this time at night, she wore a very fashionable white play-suit. With a sinking v-neckline and sharp pleats at the front, the short and fabulous garment was like no other. It's pure creamy white base color made it easy for her to dress up in timeless silver metallic Louboutin pointed toe pumps, a statement coin necklace adorned with cluster gems and sliver chains and a silver and pastel pink curved compacted clutch that had a patent shine and a clasp that replicated a carved out bamboo. On her finger sparkled a split pink stone shard ring to match the pale purse and in her ears glistened earrings with pink quartz surrounded by a halo of white diamonds. She also could not forget her favourite berry-toned seductive Mac lipstick to enhance her look for the evening.

She and the kids returned to Troy's restaurant and met him awaiting with flowers. He gave one to her and one to Isabella. Jose somehow was pleased enough to see his mother and sister being treated nicely. Troy then led them all over to a yacht and they took a boat ride further to the lighthouse, this time on a much smaller vessel. The family were in smiles all night. They were fascinated by the scenery from the historic monument, just as Troy promised that it would not be disappointing. Following dinner in the elevated structure, they left and went back on the yacht. With the kids passed out already on the couch inside, Amanda and Troy engaged in conversation for hours up until three  o-clock' that morning. The three spent the night on Troy's boat that docked right beside his restaurant. They woke up and ate breakfast at the restaurant. There Amanda sat in deep thought thinking about how much she's enjoying Troy's company. Just as she was reflecting, he came over to say his goodbyes.
"I know you all are leaving today. I must say, I had a spectacular time during these few hours" he said.
"You are right. It doesn't even feel like we just met yesterday" she responded.
"I have your number. We'll keep in touch. Hopefully you all come back soon. Jose is my new best friend. Right Captain America?!" he looked at Jose and Jose nodded with a huge smile.
"Thank you for the flowers, and the food, and the boat ride, and taking us to see the light house and for being so nice to my mommy" Isabella said graciously.
Amanda face lit up as Troy replied with a "It was my pleasure."
"So where are you going after this?" Amanda asked.
"I think I'll just chill on the beach today since our restaurant is a bit slow." he answered.

Eventually they said goodbye to each, gave hugs, and the family headed back on their cruise. Minutes after, Amanda realized how much fun she was having with Troy and decided to walk off the ship with her children once again. Everyone looked at her as if she was crazy considering that the cruise would be leaving the island in another hour but she did not care at all.

With intentions to join Troy on the beach, she exited the ship in a casual blue and white stripe romper. Lined with buttons at the centre and a knotted waist band, the piece gave off an authentic island vibe. Underneath the summer staple, she had on a radiant cobalt blue bikini that highlighted her sun tanned skin. The top had an ultra flattering asymmetric cut with intricate straps while the bottom raised mid-waist high. She impeccably styled the beachwear with a unique straw clutch embellished with natural shells, a pair of trendy foot-bed sandals designed with metallic crossover straps, and modern cat eye shades framed with broad matte blue trims giving it a slight vintage flair.  Snazzy trinkets included brass chain head piece, assorted grunge boho rings, and twin stud earrings.

As they encountered each other again on the sea shore, Troy was very surprised.

"I thought you guys left already!" he shouted.
"I don't want to leave yet" Amanda said.
Troy looked at his watch and continued... "Well, the boat is leaving in like two minutes, what are you thinking?"
"They'll just have to leave us here. I want to stay. Even if its just for a few more days. The kids are obsessed with you already and I enjoy spending time with you" she confessed.
"Where are your bags?" he asked in concern.
"They're all still in the taxi cab that I took to this beach" Amanda then looked back at the sound of a horn coming from the cruise ship.
"Well, they're leaving. There's nothing we can do now. Just show us a good time. I'll worry about getting back home later." she said happily.

Troy humbly took her suggestion and they spent an entire day playing and relaxing in the ocean. Amanda used this time telling him more about her life. She explained how she was in a previous relationship with her children's father. They were actually married for a few years but broke up suddenly after Jose's birth certainly because he was abusive. She went on and told a long story about how she's attempted dating since but there's no one that could connect with her kids who she has full custody of.

Recognizing the potential he had of being a good man to Amanda and even better person to her kids, Troy invited her on a date later that night. He hired a sitter for the children and the two revelled in a romantic night alone where they shared their first kiss.

During the memorable evening Amanda wore a luminous citrus-orange colored pant suit. The set comprised of a pair of skinny cropped trousers and a pocket vest-like blazer that looked extremely stylish along an artistic printed cropped top. A pair of strappy open toe silver leather sandal heels, a flawlessly crafted silver-tone box clutch, a spike wrap bracelet, sun inspired metallic ring, as well as round and delicate Gianni Versace earrings all made this outfit fresh and prevailing.

Tranquillizing and spending quality time with her kids all in style, we're definitely two top things Amanda expected to do this week and she accomplished each. Unknowingly, while exploring the Caribbean, she was also able to fulfil her third task which was to "find her dream guy". Unsure about when or how she and the kids would return home, she felt safe and happy in the arms of Troy.
