Style Story: Game Over

The sound of the game buzzer and thousands of fans cheering synchronised loudly as I walked into the Quicken Loans arena but it did not permit me from hearing "I love your outfit" from a few onlookers while I made my way to my court side seat. I'm Harriet... Many know me to be the wife of the star player on the Cleveland Cavaliers. I respect the recognition but I'm also my husband's biggest fan... or good luck charm as he always says.

Living in peaceful Ohio is something slightly different from me being the girl who grew up in Compton but I believe I brought a new flavor to the area with my personality and most of all, my style which is described as chic and classic.

It is actually inevitable for me to miss a home game during the season. Considering the fact that it occurs regularly, I try my best to be consistent with my fashion sense. I like to be my own stylist. It's not hard for me at all. I always had an eye for fashion so I'm able to style myself as well as my husband for press conferences and appearances.

It is now the finals and as excited as I am to watch my husband and his teammates play their best to snag the championship title in seven games, I'm also excited about what I'll be wearing.
I usually break all of the rules when I'm dressing for games. I may be a super fan but surprisingly, team color coordination is no where near my styling agenda.
Tonight is the night it all begins.

Dressed in a plush red hot mid length sleeveless blazer dress, a pair of purple lace-up sandal heels adorned with matching red details, and a structured nude Mahon Fichero handbag, I sat and my husband gave a kiss on my forehead... a game time ritual. I also cannot forget to mention my jewellery which includes rose gold stone drop earrings designed by Kendra Scott, my arm cuff with twisted inserts, a classic Guess watch, and a 14-carat diamond encrusted screw-bar ring. This first home match-up of the finals was something serious. The tremendous energy from the crowd truly helped the Cavs win this kick off game, and I'm of course extremely ecstatic that we are one up!

On to the following game and my husband along with his teammates are prepared to have a 2-0 advantage before hitting the road. However, unfortunately we did not have the same outcome as the last time. Losing hurts but as fans, we understand game 2 is just the beginning.

Although the team didn't win, I scored outfit wise wearing an edgy black leather cropped bandeau top styled with stone gold frame diamond shape earrings and a grey jersey knit pencil skirt designed with a quirky front-tie attachment. For outerwear, I layered with a Balmain two-textured wool and gabardine hooded drawstring jacket and for my feet, I rocked Saint Laurent ankle strap chain and leather sandal heels. With a vibrant colored yellow calfskin Celine tote in hand, my wrist sparked with a YSL double wrap bracelet.

Finals season is normally the only time I travel on the road with my husband.... This means, I always pack efficiently with lots of options to determine out of town game looks.
This evening in Golden State, is no different from any other.

I'm keeping it groovy pairing a long sleeve multi colored windowpane print top with a pastel pink PVC midi skirt and red strappy ankle cuff sandal heels crafted with gold buckle details. A set of delicate gold orbit earrings, an ivory shaded Tory Burch cross body wallet, gold cat-eye frames trimming round violet lenses and a tripled band gold ring does the job as accessories.

As proud as I am of my outfit, here I am in the end feeling really disappointed. Again, the Cavs failed to succeed and at this point the opposing team leads the series.

As if realising my husband and his team would have to play them again on their home court wasn't scary already, this lost makes it worst. Away games are always difficult but I'm hoping they atleast tie it all next time before we all return to Ohio.

Game 4 ready! In a sea full of Warrior fans sporting yellow and royal blue, I opted for white. My moto white high waist skinny jeans corresponds with a white bandage bralet. Its deep-neckline is the ideal feature for my vintage black and gold multi-strand Chanel neck piece. For a little warmth and added style, I also threw my distressed denim lapel collar coat in the mix. Taking a break from heels, I have on comfy nude and black Chanel espadrilles. In my ears are custom black stud earrings and I'm carrying a black Celine leather handbag.

Another night, another blow.... Definitely not concerning my attire but I meant the game. Three straight losses? I'm here thinking there's no way the Cavaliers can come back from this. The Warriors only need to take one more game and this is all over. I feel defeated but my husband being the leader that he is, has some sort of unbelievable faith. With this mindset heading back to the Q, the only possibility would be for the team to revive dramatically.

Nervous for this fifth game but happy to be back home, I got geared up in a tasteful spilt hem suede bodycon dress, a smart dark green blazer with gold buttons, and a pair of heels braided with nude yarn and embroidered with pearls. My ablaze orange faux suede clutch lit up the look and I added finishing touches with button earrings made by moonstone inspired beads on a glided fan-tire structure, a Colin Cowie bracelet sparkly princess diamonds and a rose gold ring centred with black and white diamond leaves.

A win! It's a been a while since hearing the phrase. I knew the team would come back stronger under so much pressure, and they did. "It's not over until I say it is" my husband shouted in excitement. I'm starting the believe my outfit sent some positive vibes.

We are on our way back to the Oracle for the following game and as much as I hate to be on the road again, I have some sort of motivation in me. Why not try for another charming look?

An oatmeal colored ribbed knit long sleeve mini dress with its asymmetrical slit appears to be the trick. I'm also garbed in a Chanel quilted lambskin flap bag, a gold Olivia Burton watch with a black face, a set of retro rhinestone rings and black double sided faux fur pom pom earrings, each with a chunky pearl. On my feet are black and nude gradient pointed toe 'So Kate' pumps.

Another one! Finally they've been able to catch an away game win... especially the one they most desperately needed. Game 7's can be a ball player's dream and this year, my husband those made it. I'm so glad they've gotten this far!

The final game is tonight.... This match up here in Cleveland means All Or Nothing! I guess that suggests I should consider the same theme with my look.

I pulled an elegant black BCBG Max Axaria cape romper and some eye catching fuchsia pink DSquared2 strap up heels plastered with metallic barbed wire accents. There was only a need for my gold plated slip on bracelet, square stud earrings, and the Saint Laurent monogram clutch to wind up everything.

Two minutes left on the clock and I'm holding my head in anxiety. We could be champions by the buzzer or we could walk away defeated. Just as thought about it all, my husband aims for his clutch 3-point throw and nails it in! It's over! THEY DID IT!

"We are the championsssssss" played in the background as we all gathered on the court joyfully. This series was so hard fought and I'm beyond elated! It felt like a roller coaster but now it's all done. Named the 2016 NBA champions wasn't the only achievement, my husband additionally received the Most Valuable Player award.

He keeps telling me he's aiming for a repeat next season, and although I'm thinking about the happy feeling again, I'm also thinking about my revolutionary looks for next time.
