Fashion Review: SAG Awards 2016

11:59:00 AM

The SAG awards was held on Saturday. Not much I know about this awards other than the fact that it's yet another night for notable actors/actresses. I was unable to catch the live red carpet show so I'm just catching up on who wore what. After fully registering in my head which designers had their pieces displayed on the carpet, I came to the conclusion on my final favourite looks. Honestly, nothing is too final about my picks. The list is longer than a grocery list in my household after two weeks. Almost everyone had to be listed, even some I hadn't seen looking their best in a while. These screen celebrities definitely out-did themselves at this event and I actually expected it. Last year was fashionably brilliant but this year is indescribable. The amount of stars that looked stylish is so important, this is the greatest fashion I've seen at an award show so far for the year (I'm sorta depending on the Grammy's to snatch this trophy). Even the males wore their sharpest apparel and it makes me so excited. Hollywood stylist's probably had a field day this weekend... there weren't much looks that I could call disappointing. Here are the ones I liked most:

In this bright shocking pink elegant gown, Diane Guerrero gave us a taste of spring and looked ravishing.

Tina Fey opted for a flowy red number that's beautifully designed with a halter neck bodice and defines style.

Another flavorful look that's peeking the upcoming season was worn by Lily Rabe. This delicate artistic floral print dress with it's deep v-neckline looks well crafted.

Classic contemporary edge! Jessica Pare embodied every term with this dramatic black masterpiece.

The sequin trend is still going. Alicia Vikander was spotted wearing this modish long sleeve geometrical print frock that sparkled in the daylight.

Sofia Vergara posed in a monochromtic look featuring a hot pink Vera Wang design that captured her stunning silhouette.

Naomi Watts walked the carpet in a navy floral embellished garment belted with a black strap. The way she styled it with a wine colored clutch to match her rosy lips truly made her stand out.

Another eye catching outfit with patterns is seen on Rachel McAdams in Elie Saab... This is a top look for me!

Anna Faris decided to develop her outfit with a single tone as well and looked extremely sophisticated in red.

Sola Bamis glowed in a dress that screamed creativity. With a massive bow at the back and it's vigorous golden yellow hue, I'm absolutely here for the original piece.

If I could look like this at 70 years old, I wouldn't mind at all. Helen Mirren is serving Hollywood realness in this sparkly confection.

Simple but fashionable... Claire Danes graced the carpet in a Stella McCartney dress that should be commended for its ideal fit.

Something about this eccentric ensemble, only Sarah Paulson can pull off. Her hair and make-up complemented the Giorgio Armani gown with its colourful feathered top and velvet textured bottom.

No stranger to the slay game at all, Eva Longoria bought her sexy to the event wearing Julien Macdonald.

You can definitely tell a Zac Posen design from anywhere. Viola Davis dressed in a mauve article from his collection looking the best I've seen in a while.

Sleek and polished! Melissa Rauch arrived in a clean cut-out red shift that looked extremely enriching.

Marisa Tomei was seen in exquisite Zuhair Murad for the night and looked charming!

Bringing some refreshment to the carpet, Amy Landecker rocked white with a high side-slit.

Nancy Odell showed leg as well but chose to do so in a remarkably designed green garment.

Chic and effortless describes Hannah Murray's look that strengthened her slim physique.

Deeming red the colour of the evening, Katie Lowes contributed to the obvious judgement by popping up in the favoured shade. Aside from it's color, the figure-arresting piece she wore is a gorgeous creation.

The lovely Charissa Thompson's outfit had to make the list. It's super fab!

Annie Parisse wore a similarly appealing frock alongside Paul Sparks who certainly looked suave!

Kate Winslet filled out a dark green custom... pure royalty!

Hands down one of the best dressed in my opinion, Laverne Cox stunned us all while being draped in Prabal Gurung.

Competing with red, black came in almost equal numbers.... Just magnificent on these ladies.

Gents came for their fashion crown's as well! Male style consistency was very evident at this award presentation and it must be applauded.

If the SAG awards is going to keep up with this tendency, it's slowly going to become the most anticipated award shows of the season for me. I cannot wait to see how next year will be.... This one was simply amazing.
