Fashion Review: Grammy Awards 2016
6:00:00 PM
This year's Grammy's finally happened and I realized I must stop expecting perfection because I'm always disappointed at the end of it all. The Grammy Awards is like the Oscars for musicians. The big affair where stars pull out their red carpet bests and their looks are talked about forever. This year was quite different than the usual. Many played it safe style-wise and didn't give me exactly what I was looking for. I was really depending on this presentation to be the ultimate factor for award season this year but unfortunately, it failed. For some reason, everyone must've gotten an invite that said "wear black" and there were only a few that chose to break the rules. While I am highly pissed off that the fashion was a bit sour for the night and Rihanna cancelled her performance, I'm still reviewing the weekend for good sake. As I kept up with everything going on from pre-parties, to the actual show and after parties... I must admit, there were some stylish moments... (Yes, no more negativity in this review).... On to the positive things that matter, Here are all my favorites:
Pre-Parties
Hollywood music functions were booming way before the day of the Grammys. Fashion-forward celebs were spotted at The annual Clive Davis Bash, The Hennessey V.S.O.P Privilege Dinner, The Billboard Power 100 Celebration and events hosted by Primary Wave as well as UMG.
THE MAIN EVENT
E! TV host Zuri Hall introduced the color trend in a sparkly meshed and embellished Stello Couture number.
Nicole Trunfio wore a shimmery piece as well. The fabulous metallic jumpsuit designed with a cape was very exciting to see.
Chrissy Teigen is killing it with the maternity style. She stepped out in a flawless white gown draping a beaded cape. Her partner John Legend wore a nice printed blazer that ideally complemented her look.
Gaga is back! The diva paid tribute to David Bowie with her fit and reminded everyone that her unconventional red carpet looks are not put to rest. Only she can rock this custom Marc Jacobs garment and very high platforms like no other.
Kaley Cuoco is another that arrived in a shiny chic jumpsuit.
Kehlani posed in a long sleeve red frock looking beautiful as ever.
Taking a sexy risk, Ciara exposed a whole lot in a smoking hot shift. I'm loving the blank and white print and the extremely elevated side slit.
Model Alessandra Ambrosio revealed some skin as well wearing classic Versace.
Taking part in the sequin craze, Selena Gomez slayed in an astonishing deep blue Calvin Klein cut-out gown.
Faith Evans glammed up for the night. Haven't seen her in a minute...
I was super happy to watch Vanessa Simmons in attendance. She looked really nice in an elegant yellow and grey patterned ensemble.
Liz Hernandez caught my eye in a lovely satin navy piece.
Bella Hadid, whom I'm claiming best dressed, looked insanely immaculate in Alexandre Vauthire Paris on the arms of the Weeknd who also kept it fashionable.
Tori Kelly opted for a graceful emerald gown, and although I'm not feeling her entire look, the dress itself is truly captivating. It's her first Grammys, so I'm giving her a chance with the style choice.
Keltie Knight donned in a floaty and sheer dress accented with decorative jewels.
Also seen in a pastel hue was Ellie Goulding in this gorgeous pink Stella McCartney piece that has silver chains at the back.
Its was a couple's evening. Miguel and gf Nazanin walked the carpet in trendy apparel.
Janelle Monae gave great originality as usual wearing black and white.
Portraying the splendid variety in design, Serayah glowed in an edgy Vera Wang creation. Her look as a whole is a top pick for me.
Beyonce came like an angel from the heavens above with a gown selected from a bridal collection. I thought she styled it well.
These other dolls in black wore styles that didn't make the shade so tiring after all.
I couldn't leave out the fellas who had a huge fashion night! Rapper Common wore a fresh black tux with dotted lapels.
Ofcourse I'm obsessed with Biebs monochrome outfit but I'm even more obsessed with his adorable little brother Jaxon who stole the show.
Last night Sam Hunt instantly gained a spot on my man crush list. This babe looked so attractive in an exquisite pink Dolce & Gabbana suit.
Jack Antonoff looked like an absolute gentleman wearing this well-cut and superbly fitting set. The dark grey is outstanding!
Big Sean kept it cool with a decadent open collar covered with a single button black and white blazer. The opulent loafers he wore on his feet completed his look.
Andrew Cedar scored in a sleek maroon two-piece.
These performers snatched my attention during the show with their impeccable stage fits.. some even looking better than they did on the carpet.
After Parties
Big names were all over LA after the Grammys hitting up lavish parties to celebrate!
Republic Records held a reception where more dashing stars showed up. Some of the members from Fifth Harmony and the Simpson siblings were spotted looking effortless.
At a Warner Music festivty, these gals wore modish after-party dresses.
More fun looks for a fun night!
