The peculiar design of the show seems to be the reason why they are so favoured. Mules are basically backless slip-ons that can be a treasured piece for any eccentric girl. 

Originally, the were often closed in clogs, but recent creations show that can be open toed, peep-toed, or strappy. Celebs like Solange Knowles and brands like Gucci as well as Giuseppe Zanotti are reintroducing mules to the fashion world, making them more appealing and chic.
